Thirty-two FIFA.com users won big – really big – in the Be There With Hyundai contest for the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™. Not only were their slogans emblazoned on their country’s Team Bus at this FIFA World Cup, but they also won a dream trip for two to Russia 2018 where they watched a World Cup match, saw their slogans on the team bus in person, and even met some of their heroes.

A World Cup tradition since 2006
The Be There With Hyundai contest gave fans from all over the world the chance to share and express their passion for their favourite national teams by submitting slogans worthy of being placed on their team’s official bus at Russia 2018. Submissions were received from December 2017 to the end of February 2018. Finally, 96 slogans were shortlisted and opened up for public voting from April through May 2018, allowing fans to vote and decide on the best slogan for each competing team at the World Cup. The FIFA World Cup in Russia is the fourth World Cup at which fans have had the opportunity to Be There With Hyundai.

Fans share their experience
“I’m so proud,” gushed Colombian Edgar Boris Del Campo Mari, whose slogan, ‘HERE GOES 1 DREAM, 3 COLORS AND 50 MILLION HEARTS’, thrilled Colombia fans. “We met the players and they told me they loved the slogan!

“In fact, because of that, they all signed a national team shirt and gave it to me. We took pictures together. They were really nice.” Majda Sijaric was equally overcome: “The first time I saw my slogan on the bus was on Croatian television. Tears immediately filled my eyes. So to see it live… one word describes it: proud!

“Luka Modric, who’s my favourite player, was great. He wanted to take a photo with me! I’ve seen him play live many times, in Croatia and the Santiago Bernabeu, but this was extra special because it was a World Cup and I knew my slogan was motivating our players.”

Ricardo Antonio Ramirez Peñuelas was the brains behind the catchy ‘MADE IN MEXICO, MADE FOR VICTORY’ slogan. “Knowing that everybody would see my slogan on the team bus was the materialisation of a dream, but the best part was knowing my slogan would give the team encouragement,” he said.

“The trip was wonderful, a dream come true. To see Mexico’s first victory over Germany in the World Cup, to share it with 40,000 Mexicans in Russia, was unforgettable.

“I got to meet the players on the way to the match. It was wonderful to see their concentration and determination. I wouldn’t change it for anything.”

Nischael Schwager, who came up with ‘FOUR LANGUAGES, ONE NATION’ for Switzerland, took his father, Daniel, to Russia. The father and son Swiss fans had a breathtaking experience.

“Just seeing photos beforehand made me excited and proud,” explained Nischael, “but when I saw my slogan in person for the first time, the day before the game, I just said ‘wow’. I looked at it in awe, and I felt an overwhelming sense of pride and success. I thought, ‘That’s MY slogan on MY national team’s bus!’, and was flattered that it was my slogan that was picked over thousands of other submissions and voted for by millions of fans. It was such a great feeling.

“It was my first ever trip to Russia and my first to a World Cup, which has been a dream of mine for years. It was honestly the best trip and week of my life. Thank you so much to Hyundai, FIFA and everyone who voted for my slogan, you all helped give me a trip and an opportunity that I will cherish forever.

“The day before the game I was able to go to the team hotel and meet Valon Behrami, Granit Xhaka, Breel Embolo, Ricardo Rodriguez and Yann Sommer in the outdoor café! We chatted and took photos.

“It was an incredible experience and a dream come true for me. I could not believe that I was with the players of the Swiss national team! It was so surreal and amazing!”
