Champions League: Van der Sar confirms De Ligt will leave Ajax this summer

’s Chief Executive Officer, CEO, Edwin van der Sar, has confirmed that captain, Matthijs de Ligt, will leave the club this summer to join a big club in England or Spain.

Van der Sar, a former Manchester goalkeeper, said this following ’s semi-final second leg 3-2 defeat to Tottenham.

“He’s been here since he was a child and will end up at a big club.

“I think he’ll go to England or Spain.”
