Galaxy S10 release date, specs, price and all you need to know about this Samsung flagship

All eyes will be on next month when the Korean technology giant .

This all-new and refreshed flagship will be unveiled at one of the firm’s famous Unpacked events in London with February 20 the date that fans need to put in their diaries.

Samsung revealed this official launch date late last week with an invite saying: “On 20th February, Samsung Electronics will unveil new devices that promise to usher in new Galaxy experiences based on 10 years of innovations.

“The exciting reveal will take place at a Samsung Galaxy UNPACKED event in London at 7pm GMT. More info to follow.”

Although Samsung has revealed an official release date, the firm is currently stating tight-lipped about what will feature on this flagship.

Luckily, there’s been plenty of leaks that paint a pretty good idea of what’s to come next month.

One of the most recent rumours has suggested that Samsung will release three devices at its Unpacked event.

According to Mobile Fun, this trio of phones will include a standard S10 alongside an S10 Plus and a cheaper model called the S10 E.

Pricing is still being kept under wraps but it’s thought the entry-level S10 E could start from £669 with the standard S10 getting a £799 price tag.

If you want the S10 Plus then expect to pay a premium with this colossal call maker possibly starting from £899.

So what will you get for your money?

If all of the latest leaks and rumours are true, perhaps the biggest change will come to the front of this phone.

We’re fully expecting to see Samsung push its screen technology even further than it’s done before with a display that covers every corner of the phone.

Without any bezels in sight, it seems Samsung will now punch the front-facing camera out of the screen rather than include a controversial notch design.

Spin the phone around and you’re likely to find three cameras gracing the rear case.

There’s no word on how Samsung will utilise these snappers but they could follow Huawei with a system that offers improved zoom, low light and wide-angle photos.

Along with this camera upgrade, there could be another change to the rear of the S10 with the fingerprint scanner disappearing from its current position on the S9 and S8.

Samsung has long been rumoured to be working on an embedded security sensor which will sit neatly under the screen.

It’s thought that the S10 and S10 Plus will include this new technology although those buying the S10 E may not be so lucky with the lower price meaning it may not feature on this phone.

One final new addition could arrive in the form of reverse wireless charging which will allow the S10 to refill other devices simply by touching them.

Along with these new features you should also expect the S10 to arrive packing a much faster processor, more internal storage and a bigger battery.

Samsung has suggested a smartphone launching this year will include 5G which will allow it to download files at superfast speeds but it’s not known if this technology will be available on the S10.

We’ll find out full details on February 20 and Express.co.uk will be at the Unpacked event to bring you all the live as it happens.
