Jim Ross opens up on his AEW role

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has joined AEW (All Elite Wrestling), which launched back in January, and is ready for this new opportunity that has been presented to him.

The legendary announcer recently did an interview with ESPN to promote the AEW Double or Nothing event that is set to take place May 25th at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Kenny Omega and Chris Jericho will headline this show.

During this interview, he opened up on his role where he noted that with all of the experience that he has while in the pro wrestling business, he describes himself as a senior adviser.

“I’m going to do all I can to help this young group,” JR said. “Share what I got, what knowledge I have, what expertise I have, whether it be in the infrastructure of the talent relations department or other areas. As a senior adviser, I can advise anyone in the company, especially the president.
So I may be as much as Tony Khan’s consigliere as any other job. It’s a good way to describe what I’m doing as senior adviser is helping all of these guys, but I’m not going to get into that world of play calling and strategizing matches. If somebody asks, I’ll tell them what I liked and didn’t like, how I thought it could be better or whatever it may be.”
