UFC star Jon Jones is finally set to make his highly-anticipated Octagon return later this year. “Bones” was handed a 15-month United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) suspension for his failed drug test after UFC 217 last year. In the fight, Jones defeated Daniel Cormier via third-round knockout to win the 205-pound championship. Once it was revealed Jones failed a drug test, he was stripped of the title and Cormier was reinstated as champion.
With his suspension being up on October 28th, Jones is eligible to fight this year. The UFC has officially booked “Bones” in his return fight. He will take on Alexander Gustafsson at UFC 232 in December, per ESPN. The event goes down from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on December 29th. It will be a rematch of their 2013 fight in which Jones took a controversial unanimous decision. Jones vs. Gustafsson I is often referred to as one of the best fights in UFC history.
Almost five years after their initial meeting, it will be interesting to see how the match-up plays out.Share this News
