Rivers guber: PDP hails Wike’s victory despite much-touted federal might, mocks APC, AAC

The Abia state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, , has congratulated the State Governor, Nyesom , on his landslide victory in the just-concluded governorship election in the South-south state.

DAILY POST reports that Governor Nyesom of the Peoples Democratic Party, , was on Wednesday declared winner of the election by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

The State Returning Officer, Deputy Vice -Chancellor of Federal University, Otuoke, Bayelsa State, Professor Teddy Addia, declared that Governor Wike poll 886,264 votes to defeat his closest rival, Biokpomabo Awara of the , who polled one hundred and seventy-three thousand, eight hundred and nine votes.

Abia PDP, while reacting in a statement issued to newsmen on Thursday, by its Publicity Secretary, Don Ubani, asserted that “It equally confirms the fact that with exceptional good performance, a governor will always be capable of scaling any hurdle, irrespective of federal might or any militarized gang-up, to get re-elected.

“PDP in Abia State also wishes to thank the good people of State for their steadfastness and resilience in the wake of anti-democratic onslaught on them, fruitlessly targeted at intimidating them not to allow their collective will prevail.
