The transition from the world of MMA to the land of pro wrestling has been one that former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey took to only as similar as WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle had done just two decades earlier.
Both coming from legitimate sports into the land of sports entertainment and picked up on the craft quickly. Just months into her career with the WWE, Rousey was able to win the RAW Women’s Championship and positioned as one of the top stars in the company.
WWE held a live event on Wednesday in Santiago, Chile that was headlined by Seth Rollins vs. Dean Ambrose for the Intercontinental Championship. At this event, AnnMaria De Mars, who is the mother of Rousey as well as a judo champion, lives in Santiago, Chile. Thus, she was able to sit ringside for Rousey’s match with against Nia Jax where Rousey was able to successfully retain the title.
AnnMaria De Mars took to her official Twitter account to remember the night where she wrote the following in the caption of this post, “Went to my first @wwe event yesterday with our whole team from @strongmindesp It was way cooler than I expected #WWESantiago.”
